The Mahjong House was founded by Stacey White, whose love for the game began six years ago when she joined a local Mahjong class because the bridge classes were full. She met a group of nine players back then, and they still gather every Thursday to this day. Together they celebrate not just wins on the board, but in life —marriages, graduations, new babies — and they support each other through the moments that tug at the heartstrings. During the pandemic, Mahjong became a lifeline, as Stacey and her group continued to play on Zoom every day, proving that the game can connect us even during challenging times.

In April 2023, after organizing a successful Mahjong tournament for Family Legacy in Houston, Stacey realized her passion for teaching others. With ten beginner tables eager to learn and thirty experienced players enjoying the day, she knew this was the beginning of something special. Since then, The Mahjong House has expanded beyond teaching, now offering its own line of tiles, mats, shufflers, racks, bags, and boxes, while also hosting leagues, school and community fundraisers, corporate events, birthday parties, and even kid camps.
